Tisbe copepods & Tigger are highly nutritious treat for your fish, especially finicky fish, they also add to your “Clean Up Crew” by consuming nuisance algae in your aquarium and refugium Our blend of copepods is Ideal for any reef !!

Tisbe biminiensis is a highly beneficial addition to any reef aquarium. Big, stable populations of this prolific little pod can go a long way in maintaining a squeaky clean tank full of healthy, colorful fish and invertebrates. Tisbe Pods are great for seeding new tanks & refugiums, boosting existing populations, or feeding finicky fish & inverts such as Mandarins, Seahorses, Anthias, Wrasses, SPS, LPS & NPS Corals, and most other filter-feeding inverts.

Tisbe is a harpacticoid copepod, as an adult, it lives on the seafloor. Because it spends most of its adult days crawling around on the rock, sand and glass surfaces, it feeds primarily on detritus and algal films. Juveniles, on the other hand, inhabit the open water column where they graze on phytoplankton. Tisbe copepods are highly nutritious treat for your fish, especially finicky fish, they also add to your “Clean Up Crew” by consuming nuisance algae in your aquarium and refugium. Tisbe Pods are known as “opportunistic feeders”, meaning they don’t miss an opportunity to eat, even if what they’re eating isn’t really “food”. As detritivores, they’ll eat practically any detritus in the tank, from algae to fish waste.

Juvenile copepods are difficult-to-impossible to see with the naked eye, but are ideal for establishing sustainable Tisbe biminiensis copepod populations; this is because livestock do not consume the miniscule larval copepods immediately after you add them into your tank!
